Maybe it's needed on the other side where the beach is, we have one no big deal though. You do not need a Discover Pass if you are camping and have paid and made reservations, the guy at the front checks you in and you get an all access yellow pass to hang for the duration of your stay. A lot of bunnies and the crows are ruthless when you are still sleeping in the morning, they carried my unopened chocolate bar off! YES that happened. ![]() If you have little ones and want to go to the "beach" it is best you drive there and make a few hours of it and then come back to camp, as it is on the other side. You get 3 minutes per coin for the shower and that is really all one needs to feel clean, maybe 2 tokens if you have a lot of hair? The trails are well maintained and dog friendly, however bikes are not allowed on the trails and I was ok with that since I hike and trail run anyways. Our camping spot #122 was perfect and offered a decent amount of privacy minus some people that had to walk back and forth to restrooms which are extremely close to this camp site. It is a perfect weekend get away and during the week when not a lot of people are there it is very quiet and serene. The amazing people who operate it are local residents who care about Puget Sound beaches and want to help protect them. We went on Memorial weekend which meant it was completely packed, however it was not bad. The Beach Naturalist program runs on low-tide days throughout the summer and on select winter evenings.
